Here’s how you can contact me.  (I check email daily).

Dr. Charlotte Zaremba (714) 432-5732 Extension 4, czaremba@nmusd.us, Room:  MC101

Parents:  Register with School Loop to look at your child’s grades, receive daily email updates of HW in your child’s classes, and much more!

What I do:

·       I am available every day after school except Tuesdays (staff meeting days) for help with science classes.  This is a good time for students to work together on doing their homework and practicing for tests.

  • In my science classes I give a cumulative Final exam in mid-April, right before students take their California Standards test.  Therefore, we work hard to cover all major science topics by April and then take time to review before the final exam.  After STAR testing, we have one month remaining to cover topics more thoroughly and cover state standards not emphasized on the STAR exam.
  • I use daily group activities and interaction, labs, and any strategy we can think of to help students master the state standards by April!

I want parents to know:

Success at MCHS depends on the basics:

Get plenty of sleep on school nights.

Wake up early enough to have breakfast and make it to class before 7:25 am!

Send students to school with a Nutrition snack!

WHY:  Our school only has one 20 minute “nutrition break” daily at 10:25.  This is not enough time to go anywhere on campus except the vending machine.  If there is sufficient demand, ASB will starts its Nutrition meal program, but this requires one-day advance planning!

School is a full time job!  If done properly, there is little time for a part-time job!

If a part-time job is necessary, it is recommended that MCHS students work no more than 10-12 hours per week.  State law prohibits high school students from working later than 10 pm on school nights, but 8 pm is a more reasonable cutoff for working on a school night.

I want to remind everyone that they must attend our four mandatory school field trips this year.  On field trip days, everyone has school from 7:25 until 1 pm or 2 pm, so on such days, don’t plan any obligations until after 2:30.
